The races of Azeroth
You have a choice of eight different races that you can pick from when creating your characters. Each of them has their own strenths and weaknesses so it depends on how you want to play the game.

There are two sides in World of Warcraft - the alliance and the horde. They are fighting with eat other and if you are going to mess with someone, mess with the other side. The first four races here are part of the alliance, the second four make up the horde.

Dwarves
Being traditionalists of mining and trying hard, Dwarves posses the highest natural level of stamina and strength. However considering the fact that they are like three feet tall and fairly fat, they are nost the most agilie of creatures. Dwarves can become warriors, paladins, hunters, priests and rouges.

Gnomes
Despite what the public face has been put out, it occurs to us that knomes are a bit of a joke of a race. They are like a funny version of halfings. Still they do posses natural intellect and agaility. Of course ther are pretty weak compared to other races. Gnomes can become warriors, warlocks, mages and rouges.

Humans
For those of you who wish to be boring and are scared of the unfamilar, human is the choice for you. They are a safe choice in terms of stats as they are ptretty average and they also have a wide range of classes. Humans can become warriors, paladins, mages, priests, rogues and warlocks.

Night Elves
There is a big story behind how Night Elves are no longer immortal but all you really need to know is that they still think they are better than everyone else. Night Elves have high agility though if your teaming up with friends it is not a good idea unless you are all night elves as their starting point is the other side of the world. Night elves can become warriors, rogues, hunters, priests and druids.

Orcs
Orcs are the safe choice on the site of the horde with faily average stats. That said they do have a strength bonus though they need it. They are based on the middle of a barren wasteland (traditional Orc planning) and it is pretty close to the home of the Night Elves. Still they do look very cool! Orcs can become warriors, rogues, warlocks and shamans.

Tauren
The Tauren will be familar to Warcraft III players but to everyone else, they will be a new addition. They are a nobel race like an evil twisted version of the elves really, also much uglier. They have a strength bonus but have low intelect and are not very agile. Taurens can become warriors, druids, shamans and hunters.

Trolls
The trolls are those types of guys and guls who are always looking towards the future in trying to carve out a new Horde homeland. Trolls don't have crazy stats although they are very agile. Trolls can become shamans, warriors, rogues, hunters, mages and priests so quite a nice selection.

The Undead
For Warcraft backstory fans there is something about a Forsaken who allows them to act independently rather than of minions of the Lich King. As this is lost on many of us though what you need to know is that they have higher spirit and interllect than most but are pretty wussy in strength. Undead can become warriors, rouges, hunters, priests and druids - CassieNet World of Warcraft.
