Of Mice and Men
By John Steinbeck
ISBN: 8388607

One of Steinbeck's classic books, having studied it at school my gut instink was to hate the book. However I found that parts of the book I actually found entertaining. Far from the usual bland text in books, Of Mice and Men offered a scene that brought colours flooding into the mind.

Spinning off from the book, was a movie, which was quite entertaining also, and quite successful at reaching into the emo genre. The book seemed to pull this off equally also with a quite deep storyline as far as my current reading list has so far contained. It offered a real insight into the hardship of the two characters, George and Lennie, and the ranch workers life in general.

The story tells of two ranch workers (as you probably gathered ;), who share a common dream of one day owning their own plot of land rather than always working for someone else. The heart felt writing attracted empathy like an electrical appliance attracks dust. All in all, a deeply emotional read - Review Machine Books.
