Katie Holmes Biography
Born on the 18th of December 1978, Katerine Noelle Holmes (aka Katie Holmes) was the youngest of five children born to parents Kathleen and Martin. She grew up in Toledo, Ohio and attended several Catholic schools including the all-female Notre Dame Academy.

She began her career while in high school, attending auditions in Los Angeles which she went to with her mother. She tailed to get on any of the TV pilots she originally set out to audition for but was picked up for the film "Ice Storm" which starred Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver.

She headed back to Toledo but success was not far away. Executive producers of Dawson's Creek, Kevin Williamson and Paul Stupin came across her audition tape. She read for the party of Joey and was cast in the part (to hear the reason's why in Kevin's own words check out the commentary on the series 1 DVD).

Katie Holmes along with James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams were soon rocketed to fame when the first series was broadcast on The WB. The show ran for six series and Katie is the only actor to have appeared in all 128 episodes.

While filming DC (Dawson's Creek for you "outsiders" ;) she also perused her movie career. None of the movies were particularly successful for her though so this section would pretty much just end up as a copy and paste of her filmography. The rolls are getting better though, such as the recent First Daughter.

In terms of Katie's personal life everything seemed to be going great. Sometime in 2003/2004 (IMDb.com say Christmas 2003, Wikipedia say late 2004) Chris Klein proposed to Katie and she said yes. However in early 2005 Katie broke off the engagement - Katie Holmes Planet.
