Halloween Resurrection Review
This is the 7th Halloween featuring the acclaimed fictional serial killer Michael Myers and 8th film in the Halloween series. We once again must pretend films 3 through 5 haven’t happened yet for the story to work, well at least the opener. I was surprised when I heard this film had been made, I was sure I saw Myers decapitated in H20 (how could he come back from that?) but we soon learn Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) got the wrong person and has been placed in a mental home. Myers soon turns up and we finally say bye bye to Laurie.

Back on home turf a bunch of teens do a big brother styled show in the former home of Michael Myers (or so we think) headed up by Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes) who seems to take the spot light in resurrection. Then we get the classic Myers kills everyone except 1 a 2 who amazingly survive.

Of course we also see Myers die only to return in the last 5 minutes. This leaves the door open for yet another sequel but with Laurie dead who’s left for Michael to kill? I suppose they could set it after film 6 so we can finally find out what happened next but it’s unlikely.

Overall I like the film but wouldn’t call it groundbreaking or good instead I’d call it just another Halloween. After Halloween 2 the series wasn’t so scary and resurrection is no exception. Fans say they should have stopped at 1 and I agree but that doesn’t stop me wanting more.
