Coyote Ugly
From the outset, the movie did not look like an emo flick. I didn’t really look like an emo flick in any way, shape or form. Luckily then, the film has so much more depth to it – it’s not just a bunch of girls shaking it on a bar. Of course there is plenty of that too. I think we have ourselves a fine movie on our hands.

The film tells of wannabe famous songwriter Violet moving to New York where she meets Kevin O’Donnell, the romance angel is in, and gets a job at the wild bar, Coyote Ugly. Nicknamed, Jersey she seems to be able to sing karaoke fine on the bar. So why of why can’t she perform her songs?

The emo isn’t running throughout the whole film but her moments with her dad as they reconcile offer some strong sections and the overall romantic comedy theme also add some quality emo value to the movie. Not totally emo, but if you like romantic comedies then check this one out.
