American Beauty
American Beauty is kind of like The Matrix. The first time you watch it you will probably be left thinking, "what was that about?" The difference is that if you watch The Matrix again you will probably understand it.

The basic plot is of how Lester Burnham turns his boring life round while turning other peoples lives upside down in the process. Now see how much sense it makes. Yet it is still a remarkably interesting film. The first time I saw it, I watched it again right the next day.

The film stars Kevin Spacey and is kind of philosophical in the way that it really is showing us how much our lives really do suck. Another interesting point is that it got a different rating in almost every country in the world.

It may not live up to its reputation as you might expect it to, but with the reputation it has, few films could. I wouldn't have looked twice at it though before I saw the trailer for it. I watched it still thinking it wasn't going to be brilliant. But it was. That really surprised me considering my favourite films are Beverly Hills Cop 3 and Star Wars.

Some people really didn't like it though. Not mentioning the review on IMDB.com :). I thought it was good though and if you like to take a 3rd persons view at your live its definitely one to watch - Emo Movies.
