Driver
"Do something, we've got a tail!" Driver is back, with Driver 2. However we don't have that so we have reviewed the original game. If you don't know, it's a bit like GTA in that it's a cop game, but its more of a driving game. You cant get out of your car, and the view is the same as any other driving game. However there's cops.

The main part of the game is called "Undercover" where you get missions. First you have to get a job. You start in a dark car park where you have to pull of some moves. Burnout, Handbrake, Slalom, 180, Lap, Speed, Brake Test, Reverse 180 and 360. The hardest one to pull off is the reverse 180. To do this go into reverse then take your finger off the brake and steer left or right.

Once you get the job you get to an apartment. Here you cane quit to title screen, options, save game, take a ride and get a new job. The take a ride option lets you go for a ride round you local area. Get a new job lets you get a new mission. You start off in Miami, then you move to San Francisco and then we think you go to Los Angeles and New York.

Your first mission is a bank robbery where you have to drive to the bank, pick up the robbers and get out of there. Once this is done you have a choice of 2 missions and so on. To stop you the cops try to ram your car until its wrecked.

Apart from the missions there is take a ride which at the start lets you take a fide in Miami and San Francisco, day or night. There are also some training missions and some driving games. Getaway is where you have to escape from a cop chasing you. Pursuit is where you have to chase someone and ram their car in. Dirt Track is where you race round a dirt track (surprisingly). Cross Town Checkpoint is where you have to go across the cities, hitting checkpoints (there are 6 checkpoints and no cops). Survival is where you have to escape loads of cops (its impossible, they just keep coming at you!)

Conclusion
Driver is a very addictive game and can be a lot of fun even if your crap at it. We have given it an 8 out of 10 - the Tokyo Journal Magazine.
