Carmen Electra Biography
Tara Leigh Patrick, now famously known as Carmen Electra, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 27, 1972. When Carmen was only 9 years old, she was selected to attend the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Ohio. There she took singing and dancing lessons, and by her teenage years she was starring in musicals and even choreographing the school's theatre production. When Carmen was 15, she moved to Minneapolis, to pursue her career goal of becoming an actress. In Minneapolis she became a model for Target Corporation, and within four years, she was off to Los Angeles, with a bright future in hold.

One week after moving to Los Angeles, Electra met the music artist Prince, who saw potential in her as a singer. He persuaded her to officially change her name to Carmen Electra, which she did, and even offered her a record contact with his recording company, Paisley Park Records. In 1992, she released a single, entitled "Go-Go Dancer", which was a complete bust. In 1995, Electra decided to try to restart her career, and appeared in several television shows, including Nickelodeon's All That. However, this was only the beginning for Carmen, as 1996 would mark the point where Carmen Electra went from an unknown singer, to a worldwide known actress and model.

Carmen Electra posed nude for Playboy in March of 1996, and appeared in the adult film, "Playboy Cheerleaders". Shortly after the Playboy shoot, Electra had a breast enlargement, and auditioned for MTV's "Singled Out", where she was eventually chosen to replace Jenny McCarthy as the co-host. This was the floodgate to many movie and television opportunities for Electra. Carmen was also chosen to replace Pamela Anderson on the popular TV show, Baywatch, in 1997 and 1998. Of her numerous movies, several have performed very well in the box offices, including Scary Movie (2000), Starsky and Hutch (2004), Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005), and Dirty Love (2005).

Recently, Carmen has remained in the spotlight, being named #59 in Stuff Magazine's "102 Sexiest Women in the World" in 2002. In 1998, Electra was briefly married to NBA superstar, Dennis Rodman, but this didn't last long, as they divorced in 1999. She is currently married to musician, Dave Navarro, who is the lead singer of Jane's Addiction. They were married in 2003, as part of a documentary TV series on MTV, entitled "'Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen + Dave", which aired in 2004.
