Applying Motivation
Motivation is very important to a business as without motivated workers the company will be unproductive or may even stop functioning properly. Human resources plays a major part in motivation being the key link between the workers and the company management.
Benefits of motivation
The benefits of having a motivated staff are:
• Employees worker harder and put in more effort
• Employees will take pride in their work and do it to a higher standard
• Sick days and absences will be reduced
• The workforce will be happier and therefore less likely to take industrial action and take actions that will harm the company
• Employees will be less likely to ask for more pay, benefits, etc
Unmotivated staff
The problems with having unmotivated staff are:
• Employees will slack off and not put in much effort
• Employees will do the bare minimum and not care about the standard of work they are carrying out
• Sick days and absences will be reduced
• The workforce will be unhappy and may take industrial action, demand higher pay, more benefits, etc
