Angelina Jolie Biography
Born in Los Angeles, California on June 4th, 1975 Angelina Jolie Voight was the daughter of Jon Voight (the Academy award winning actor) and Marcheline Bertrand. Angelina has not been close to her father though, removing Voight from her name. She is however, very close to her brother James Haven.

She has been involved in performing since a child attending the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute at age 11 and holding a degree in film from New York University. Her early career included modelling, stage productions and music videos for artists including Lenny Kravitz and Meatloaf.

She also got into films early, appearing in student films directed by her brother at USC (as random trivia, that's where Dawson Leery got into ;). Angelina currently has a son Maddox and is rumoured to be in the process of adopting a second child.

In 2001, Angelina became a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and works hard to call attention to problems in third world nations.

Probably Angelina's biggest role so far has been starring as Lara Croft in the movie spin-off from the Tomb Raider games. The film included her actual father playing her father in the film as a reconciliation attempt; however it was not particularly successful.

In 2005, Angelina was accused of breaking apart Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's marriage, which of course she denied. She and Brad Pitt had been working together on the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith which was released in June 2005 and brought some much welcomed attention back to Angelina.

She was also voted sexiest women in the world in FHM's yearly poll, taking the crown of "global winner", coming first on the US list and third on the UK list and beating Jennifer Garner, Paris Hilton and Hallie Berry among others - Angelina Jolie Planet.
